Who is eligible for the flu vaccination this year?
As per recent guidance from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation, the following people will be offered the flu vaccination this year:
- all school children aged 2 to 17
- those aged 6 months to 64 years in clinical risk groups*
- pregnant women
- those aged 65 years and over.
- those in long-stay residential care homes
- carers
- close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
- frontline health and social care staff employed by:
- a registered residential care or nursing home
- registered domiciliary care provider
- a voluntary managed hospice provider
- Direct Payment (personal budgets) and/or Personal Health Budgets, such as Personal Assistants.

What about the Covid Vaccination?
If you are eligible for a covid vaccination this autumn/winter season you will be offered one at your flu appointment.
You will also be contacted by NHS England in due course if you are eligible for a covid vaccination. The national booking service will open on the 23rd September 2024 if you would like to book into a local vaccination centre instead.
