Screening is routinely offered to all patients with a cervix every 5 years between the ages of 25 and 64. This may vary depending on previous results or any significant medical/family history. Reminders are sent to patients by national screening services, as well as your GP Surgery.

Appointments are available throughout the week with both our Practice Nurse and PCN Physician Assistant. There are also selected Saturday clinics run at Chawton House Surgery available to our patients.

We offer in house phlebotomy appointments throughout the week at both our sites. Please note these are 5 minute appointments, so we kindly request you remove any outer clothing (jumpers/coats) before you are called in and please wear clothing that allows easy access to your forearm/hand. This allows our phlebotomy clinics to run smoothly and efficiently.

General contraceptive advice and prescribing of oral and injectable contraceptives is available from the GP via routine appointment.

Other contraceptive options such as implants, intrauterine devices and sterilisation options (male and female) will be signposted on to local sexual health or referred to hospital as appropriate. You can also self refer to community sexual health clinics and the vasectomy service (See Self Referral page for more details)

Our Practice Nurse delivers routine childhood immunisations (normally from 8weeks to 5 years) according to the UK Childhood Immunisation Schedule (NHS vaccinations and when to have them – NHS), as well as any due between the ages of 5 years to 14 years, where they have not received them via the school nursing programme.

Please note we are not permitted to deviate from the UK Immunisation Schedule.

Dr Royston runs a minor ops clinic. Eligible patients will be referred into the clinic following assessment by a GP.

The NHS Health Check is a free check-up of the health of your heart and blood vessels (cardiovascular health). It can tell you whether you’re at higher risk of getting certain health problems, such as Heart Disease, Kidney Disease, Diabetes or Stroke.

The checks are carried out by a member of our nursing team and consists of:

• an initial blood test
• a face to face appointment to complete the assessment (measuring your height, weight and blood pressure, along with lifestyle questions)
• any advice on improving your health outcomes.
