Register with our practice

We are using a new online service called Register with a GP surgery that makes it easy to register with this GP surgery.

Just fill in this quick online form to start the process. You do not need proof of address or immigration status, ID or an NHS number.

The service is designed and run by the NHS, so your personal information is safe. It cuts our administrative workload and makes it easier for you to register.

Paper forms are still available if you need one from our reception team.

Temporary Patient Registrations

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one, you can receive emergency treatment from the Urgent Treatment Centre at Lymington Hospital.

For routine medical needs you can register as a temporary resident with a GP surgery for up to 3 months. This can be helpful if you’re living away from home but do not want to change your home GP surgery.

To register you’ll need to fill out a temporary services form (GMS3), available from GP surgeries.

After 3 months, you’ll have to reapply to register as a temporary resident or become a permanent patient.

To register as a temporary patient simply contact the local practice you wish to use. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment if the need is immediate. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.

You may also be able to register as a temporary resident if you are visiting from abroad.

Named GP

All patients registered at the practice are allocated a named GP. This will usually be a GP Partner.

Your named GP is responsible for the overall care you receive at the practice. If you are unsure who your named GP is, or would like to change your allocation please contact a member of our patient services team. This does not restrict who you can see at the practice – you are free to consult with the clinician of your choosing.
